In 2008 Solastor entered into negotiations with Alfa Mediterranean, a property developer from Cyprus, to construct a 25MW facility using the Solastor System on their 2 million square meter property 20kms north of Limassol.
Unfortunately the global financial crisis during the next 2 years resulted in the 300 module project being put on hold.
In 2013, Alfa Mediterranean resumed its plans to complete the project. In March, 2014 the European Investment Bank announced that the project would be awarded a grant of €60 million under the NER300 program. As a result Alfa Mediterranean has now been able to proceed with negotiations with contractors and suppliers in preparation for commencing construction in the second quarter of 2017.
