Leadership

Lyall McLachlan – Chairman

Lyall has extensive experience creating and building successful businesses, and in leadership roles. After serving for 12 years as an officer in the Australian Army, Lyall worked for Mayne Nickless and TNT and in 1986, he participated in the management buy-out of Toll Transport from Peko-Wallsend.

In 1988, Lyall founded SWADS, a specialist warehousing and distribution company, which he sold to Australia Post in 2004, having achieve an annual turnover exceeding $100 million per annum.

Lyall then initiated the formation of Solastor in 2009 and is currently its Chairman and the largest shareholder in the company.

Steve Hollis – Chief Executive and Managing Director

Steve is a civil engineer with nearly forty years experience in the designing and constructing large scale projects and managing major engineering companies. Steve was CEO of the Scott and Furphy Engineering Group and, following a merger with the CMPS Group, became its COO and responsible for business development and operations. He was active in industry associations and was Chairman of the Australian International Projects Group for several years.

Steve was also CEO of Lloyd Energy Systems from its commencement. In 2001 he signed an exclusive worldwide arrangement with Bob Lloyd, the inventor of the graphite stoage technology now used by Solastor. Steve led the development program for the technology and oversaw the negotiations and initial construction stages of the first commercial scale plant at Lake Cargelligo in 2009.

When Solastor was formed in late 2009, to undertake projects using the technology, Steve became the CEO and Managing Director.

Mark Harvey – Director

Mark has a degree in biology from Macquarie University and has been a property developer and investor since 1989. With a keen interest in the global environmental issues, Mark combines his business and science skills with the aim of solving some of these. An avid fan of the Australian outback and the oceans, Mark spends much time in these environments furthering his studies supporting scientific research. Mark also produces the Wild Australia Expo and the Australian Frog and Reptile Show, and is active in community sporting programs as a coach, manager and player.

Dino Calvisi – Director

Dino graduated from the University of NSW in 1975 with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and attained a Master of Engineering Services (Electrical) in 1980. In 1986 he established Braemac Pty Ltd, a distribution business for semiconductors and electrical components. Today, Braemac employs over 200 people with branches throughout Australia and New Zealand, and offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, China, the UK and the USA.
